Application of drainage catheter

Drainage tube is a kind of medical instrument used for clinical surgical drainage to guide pus, blood and liquid accumulated in human tissue or body cavity to the outside body, prevent postoperative infection and promote wound healing. There are many kinds of surgical drainage tubes used in clinical practice, some are used for urinary catheterization, some are used for wounds, chest cavity, brain cavity, gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract and so on. The purpose of surgical drainage is to direct pus, blood, and fluid accumulated in human tissue or body cavity to the outside of the body to prevent postoperative infection and affect wound healing. When applying the drainage tube, pay attention to the position of the drainage bottle should not be higher than the plane of the patient's intubation mouth. When moving the patient, clamp the drainage tube first; When the drainage exceeds half of the bottle, it should be poured to prevent countercurrent pollution caused by high liquid level.
